It's a circle that major league baseball star Nick Swisher is proud to be part of, as he signs on for a new partnership as the spokesman with Broughton Foods Company. According to Swisher, "I grew up drinking Broughton milk. It's the only kind we had in my house, and I drank it every day of my life."

Swisher spoke to coaches at his alma mater, Parkersburg High School in WV. He was the star of a program designed to alert athletic leaders about the benefits of chocolate milk to their teams. The decision to help promote chocolate milk as a natural energy booster was an easy one for Nick. "Throughout my baseball career, no matter who I've played for, my milk hasn't changed."
Nick steps up to the plate to launch a new campaign for the regional Broughton Foods. The company is announcing to the world the natural goodness of chocolate milk as an energy drink, and they couldn't think of anyone with more energy than Swish.

The campaign is part of a national effort to promote the benefits of chocolate milk to active people. According to a study by Indiana University, a bottle of cold chocolate milk is the perfect source to refuel the body and create energy for the next round of activity. Chocolate milk has a unique, flavorful blend of protein, carbs and electrolytes that help refuel tired muscles. The suggested amount of 16 ounces of chocolate milk within 30 minutes of practice or competition will provide the next energy boost, in a healthy, natural way. Nick says this is not news to athletes and trainers. "We've known for a long time that milk is a great tool for nourishing the body and chocolate milk adds that extra energy boost needed for refueling. It's important to get the word out to kids who are involved in physical activity – chocolate milk is the natural way professional athletes are gearing up for the next round, and it's a great way for kids to prepare, too."
Dave Broughton of Broughton Foods says the company is excited to have Nick as their spokesperson. "Swish was a local celebrity even as a teenager, when he was a standout athlete in our area. Now that he's a nationally-known Major League player, it's great to have him on our labels as Nick, the guy who grew up on Broughton milk. We believe he is the perfect person to share the benefits of chocolate milk with the next generation of athletes."
